Minivans have long remained a great choice for families. Not only does the Odyssey provide great passenger comfort, but it also offers family-friendly features such as onboard Wi-Fi and a rear-seat entertainment system. While the new Odyssey has garnered rave reviews, some car shoppers will also be looking at the 2019 Toyota Sienna. Let's see which one of these minivans comes out ahead in this head-to-head comparison.

Performance

Like the 2019 Honda Odyssey, the 2019 Toyota Sienna comes standard with a powerful V6 engine. However, expect the Odyssey to deliver extra fuel savings. While the Odyssey can deliver up to 28 mpg* on the highway, the Sienna tops out at 27 mpg. You can also take advantage of the Odyssey's sharper driving dynamics. According to Edmunds, no other minivan in the segment handles better than the Honda Odyssey. Whether you're driving around town or taking a road trip, you'll always experience a strong sense of control. Meanwhile, noticeable body roll makes the Toyota Sienna feel far less stable around curves.

Interior

If you have a growing family, passenger space becomes a big factor. You can trust the 2019 Honda Odyssey to give your family plenty of space to stretch out. When riding in the Odyssey's second row, passengers will have an additional 3.3 inches of legroom. There's also more legroom in the Odyssey's third row. Both of these minivans come standard with an impressive amount of technology, including a backup camera and Bluetooth connectivity. However, there are certain features you can't get on the Toyota Sienna. It still fails to offer Android Auto, which will disappoint a lot of smartphone users. Ventilated front seats are also not available on the Toyota Sienna.

Safety

Honda produces some of the safest vehicles on the market. Although the 2019 Toyota Sienna offers valuable driving aids such as blind-spot monitoring and forward collision warning, it can't match the Odyssey’s safety features. When aboard the 2019 Honda Odyssey, you're entire family will enjoy an extra peace of mind thanks to the available Honda Sensing.

As you can see, the 2019 Honda Odyssey is a few steps ahead of the 2019 Toyota Sienna. It's roomier, more fun to drive, and safer. If you would like to experience the new Odyssey, contact Proctor Honda to schedule a test drive.
