Big Bend Cares has been serving the needs of the HIV community in North Florida since 1987.
A not-for-profit agency, Big Bend Cares provides assistance to people living with HIV and conducts HIV prevention and education programs to the general community. Big Bend Cares is the only AIDS Service Organization in the eight counties in our area and serves HIV positive individuals in all eight counties.
In 2019, throughout Gadsden, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Franklin, Taylor, and Wakulla Counties,Big Bend Cares was able to:
A majority of Big Bend Cares clients live in a household at or below the Federal Poverty Level.
In 2017, Big Bend Cares expanded by opening Care Point Health & Wellness Center, a one-stop-shop where clients and community members can receive primary care, radiology, dental, prescription refills, and lab work all in one location.
Care Point Health & Wellness Center provides doctors, dentists, radiology, mental health professionals, lab and X-ray services, and pharmacy. Our convenient services allow patients to spend less time traveling between multiple offices and waiting for care so that they can return to work, school, and life faster.

As a not-for-profit agency, Big Bend Cares relies on generous donations and philanthropic support from individuals, families, corporations, and foundations. Each gift is meaningful, regardless of size, and has a direct impact on our community and Big Bend Cares’ clients.
Since March 1st, 2020, Big Bend Cares has given out over 4,200 no-cost food bags and financial housing assistance has increased by 40 percent. Plus, Big Bend Cares and Care Point Health & Wellness Center have remained open every day to provide comprehensive care and support to those in need.
