The 2022 Honda Civic*: Exterior
The 2022 Honda Civic appears to have a lower, more elongated front, since the A-pillar has been pushed back two inches.
While the total wheel base has only stretched an inch from its predecessor, the 2022 Civic appears wider and longer due to small tweaks in angles and exterior styling.
Black trim appears to have replaced traditional chrome elements on the exterior styling, and the prototype features 19” black wheels. In production, we will have to stay tuned to see which trim levels receive the darkened finish!
A subtle integrated spoiler and dual, oval-shaped exhaust give the car a sporty appearance.
Side mirrors have been repositioned lower on the doors, instead of on being located on the A-pillar, as in previous models.
The 2022 Honda Civic*: Interior
Honda has hinted that passenger and cargo space will remain similar to previous model years.
The 2022 Honda Civic Sedan Prototype has a 9” infotainment screen and an entirely digital instrument cluster.
The infotainment system now sits above the dash rather than being embedded into it.
Air vents appear to be cleverly disguised into a honeycomb pattern along the dash.
Additional interior details TBA.
The 2022 Honda Civic*: Under the Hood
The Honda Civic will remain a front-wheel drive vehicle.
Honda has not yet released any information about the 2022 Civic’s powertrain.
2022 Honda Civic Si and Type R are in the works for those who enjoy Honda’s premier performance models.
EPA ratings have not yet been released for the 2022 model, but the current Civic’s fuel efficiency ratings are some of the best in the compact car class and we would anticipate the 2022 model year ratings to remain highly competitive.
